Postdoctoral Position in Bioinformatics
A postdoctoral position is available immediately
to participate in a three-year project to develop new gene finding
algorithms using DNA sequence information along with data on protein
sequence and structure information available in public databases.
The algorithm will be using Markov and Hidden
Markov models describing statistical patterns observed in known DNA
and protein sequences and structures.
The successful candidate will join an active group
working on new gene finding algorithms (http://dixie.biology.gatech.edu/)
Strong preference will be given to candidates already
published their works in Bioinformatics and those who were awarded by at
least partial financial support for postdoctoral studies.
